The practice is to disinfect the area around the umbilical root with 75% alcohol. Use thick silk thread to tie the first layer 0.5cm away from the umbilical cord root, and tie the second layer 0.5cm outside the tie line. Cut the umbilical cord 0.5cm outside the second ligation line, clean the residual blood at the cut end, and disinfect the umbilical cord section with 20% potassium permanganate. The solution should not contact the newborn's skin to avoid burns. After the section is dry, cover it with sterile gauze and then wrap it with umbilical cord cloth. At present, umbilical cord clamp and vascular clamp are commonly used to replace double ligation.
